New Portfolio

So I went ahead and changed my portfolio to a more streamlined style. I think it came out rather nice. I might want to do something with the picture quality, but I'll work more on that later. Check it out under the "Portfolio" tab at the top of the page. I think it looks much more professional now. :D

EDIT! I went ahead and made a link to my old gallery page at the bottom of my portfolio (the little glowing arrow) so if you want to see a higher quality image but have to go through the grueling task of clicking on them to view individually (instead of in that nifty little viewer there) click that link to access my higher quality gallery.

More Updating

We're approaching the final countdown of my time here at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, and its both exhilarating and terrifying to think that I'm finally on the verge of graduating. It's been a long and arduous road but I'm almost there, and that is very exciting. I'm about to begin a new stage of my life and really break out into the world as an adult.

But until that time, I'm super stressed with classwork, work work and personal projects. Not to mention a fantastically wonderful boyfriend and the looming gap that we must soon face that is known as the dreaded fear of every relationship. No not rape, even worse. DISTANCE! bum Bum BUMMMMM!

Seriously though I'm sure we'll weather through this short separation (we're only talking a couple of months) together just fine, I just like to psyche things up. Its fun.

So check out the gallery for five new images, including another almost finished piece from my Senior Project! OOOOOOOOooooooOOOOOOOoooooh! I just know all two of you are dying for more of that haha. You'll also see a couple of pieces for my Digital Illustration III class and a piece from my Science-fiction/Fantasy class that I'm in this semester. I'm quite proud of the work I've been producing lately, even if it isn't necessarily my cup of tea. Oh and Charley (the fantastically wonderful boyfriend) worked on the cake for my Sweet Dreams piece.

OH! And have some pictures of my studio from a week or so ago, back when we still had snow:

Till next time my ducks!

UPDATES!!! :D

So while I'm waiting for the gods damned lowell printer to finish cleaning before it prints my COMP of my winter wine auction piece, I decided it was a good time to update the gallery up in hurr. Yes I'm a gangstah, don't hate. ;P

Aaaaaanyways, I went to see my extended family this past weekend for my grandpa's 90th birthday party and realized that I don't have a lot of recent stuff up, so I'm changing that. Get ready for an art dump!
The Lost Dinosaur 13x8 Digital
This is my Advanced Digital Illustration final from last semester. The prompt was a young adult book cover titled The Lost Dinosaur. My concept was that of a science nerd and his animal rights activist girlfriend who discover a baby Brachiosaur pulled forward in time by the scientists bosses, and she convinces him to steal the dinosaur and try to get it back to his time.

Summer Breezes 12x16 Digital
This is my entry for the Easter Seals Winter Wine Auction that NHIA participates in annually. Artists are required to create a piece about wine. Mine is the two elven queens of the Seelie and Unseelie courts (yes one of them is a boy). They're twins, and very flighty and jovial. The Elven summer courts are actually giant vineyards that hop across the country side, luring young humans into their depths for a night or two of revelry before vanishing without a trace. I had a lot of fun with this piece.

The Pheonix 12x21 Digital
The last piece I'm uploading today is one of the pieces from my Senior Project. I don't want to reveal all of my newest works, I'd like people to see them in person during the show instead, but I figure I need to give people at least a little taste of what's to come. This piece is the climactic scene where Cienn runs away from the rebel base and meets a giant pheonix avatar, in service of the Goddess Bitepu. He ends up talking some sense into the young Medium and bringing him back to the rebels to save the day. But right now is just the awe inspiring, terrifying moment, when he comes down from the skies to confront Cienn.

So there's some newer works for you all to peruse. I'll have some stuff from my Sci-Fi/Fantasy class and my Digital Illustration III class very soon too, so stay tuned!

New url and constructions

So we're getting into the website and personal media design in my professional artist class, and as such we had to buy domain names. THEREFOR! the new name for this site iiiis:

www.evendarart.com

Short, simple and to the point. I like it, and I hope you do too. :)

ALSO! I'm adding some pages and working around with the layout for the site for the next few days, (and maybe even finish off the forums finally?... maybe.) so things will look different and weird for a while until I settle everything in.

Thanks for stopping by! And be sure to check back soon, my first pieces for my senior project are nearing completion, and of course I have to post some kind of preview. So stay tuned!
